How to Stop Your Pool Pump from Running Dry

Maintain Proper Water Level

The water level should be at the midpoint of the skimmer opening or slightly above. If the water level drops too low, air can enter the system, causing the pump to lose prime and run dry. Clean the Skimmer and Pump Basket

Debris can accumulate in the skimmer and pump basket, restricting water flow and causing the pump to run dry. Clean the skimmer basket at least once a week, or more often if necessary.
